Mr. Smith, Miss Carter are married March 28

Benjamin Russell Smith and Anissia Tarenette Carter were married at 5 p.m. March 28, 2009, at Traveler’s Rest M.B. Church. The Rev. Antione Eakins officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Willie Jean Carter and Eugene McGraw of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of the late Willie and Rachel Carter and the late Mary Pierce, all of Vicksburg.
The groom is the son of Eddie and Julia Ford of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of the late Lorraine Davis of Vicksburg.
The bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Willie Carter Jr., of Southfield, Mich. The bride’s chosen colors were Victorian lilac, purple and silver.
Selections by Kenny G, Johnny Gill and Marvin Sapp were presented on CD throughout the ceremony.
Maids of honor were Angela Jenkins, sister of the bride, and Ashley Smith, sister of the groom, both of Vicksburg. Matron of honor was Angela Loving Whitney of Byram. Bridesmaids were Beverly Jones, Lashondra Lott, Renaye Brown, Kimberly Bolls, Christy Bracey, Pamela Trisby, Tameka Butler and Sandra Wesley, all of Vicksburg.
Junior bridesmaids were Jonikqua Dillon, daughter of the bride, Chelsea King and Kennedy Davis, all of Vicksburg.
Flower girls were Mia Alexander, Destiny Carson, Erica Carson and Jalisa Shaw.
Serving as best men were Wesley Smith, brother of the groom, Shelley Price and Robert Thomas, all of Vicksburg. Groomsmen were Darrick Carson Sr., Eric Carson Sr., Reginald Holmes, Derrick Moore, Jeremy Brown, Jamal Lee, Gregory Hudson and Morris Alexander, brother of the bride, all of Vicksburg.
Junior groomsmen were Dedrick Trisby, Darrick Carson Jr. and Eric Carson Jr., all of Vicksburg.
Ushers were Wayne Smith and Fredrick Price, both of Vicksburg.
Ring bearer was Darius Carter, son of the bride.
Bible bearer was Joshua Alexander.
Miniature bride was SaKyaih McCline; miniature groom was William Carter, son of the bride.
Escorted and seated as special guests were aunts of the bride and groom: Ethel Carter Carson, Katie Mae Gray, Lorraine Johnson and Betty Clark.
Special wedding assistants were Rebecca Curtis and Willie Walker.
A reception followed at the VFW on Monroe Street.
Hostesses were Lillian Porter, Marisha Davis, Sarah Ross, Charlene Allen, Ida Burse, Harriet Moore, Andrea Jenkins, Annie Mae Houston, Mattie Thomas, Jackie Cobbs and Kimberly Smith, sister of the bride. Denetra Bracey served as tea girl.
Guests were entertained with music by DJ Flash, Eric Hall.
The couple will make their home in Vicksburg. The bride is employed at Kings Head Start Center, and the groom is employed at Ameristar Casino.
Bachelorette party
Angela Jenkins, sister of the bride, hosted a bachelorette party at Loving’s Place.
