City man jailed for probation violation

A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail this morning for probation violation.
Randy Arnold, 26, no address available, was arrested at 3 this morning, and he was held without bond, jail records said.
Vicksburg man held for domestic violence
A Vicksburg man was in the Issaquena County Jail this morning for a third-offense domestic violence.
Lucius Sparks, 34, 234 W. Magnolia St., was arrested at 12:47 p.m. Sunday in a neighborhood near his home and was charged with third-offense domestic violence, said Sgt. Sandra Williams of the Vicksburg Police Department.
The victim did not require medical attention, said Williams.
He was held without bond.
Two men report armed assaults
A man told police he was robbed at gunpoint Saturday evening after stopping his car when he heard someone yell for help.
The victim reported at 10:43 p.m. that he was approached by four men trying to sell him drugs on Speed near Oak Street, and one of the men pulled a gun and took $100 and a Black Jack cell phone valued at $200 before fleeing in an unknown direction, said Sgt. Sandra Williams.
The victim did not give any other description other than it was four black males, said Williams.
He said he was westbound on Speed between Washington and Oak when he heard the call for help.
Separately, a man told police he was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint at 7:49 p.m. Saturday at the Magnolia Manor Apartment complex, 3515 Magnolia Drive.
The victim reported he was approached by two young males, described to be between 16 and 20 years old, when one of the suspects pointed a small silver handgun at him and then assaulted him, said Williams.
The suspects jumped into a small gray car and drove away in an unknown direction after they assaulted the victim, said Williams.
Nothing was stolen, said Williams. Neither of the victims required medical attention, she said.
Robbery reported on Bowmar Avenue
A strong arm robbery was reported at 1:49 this morning, in which the victim reported her purse was snatched as she was entering her apartment in the 1100 block of Bowmar Avenue, said Sgt. Sandra Williams.
The suspect was described as a black man, about 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans, she said.
The suspect stole the purse containing $100 cash and fled in an unknown direction, said Williams.
Stolen vehicle found on Mission 66
A vehicle reported stolen earlier in the day was found at 5:44 p.m. Saturday in a parking lot in the 800 block of Mission 66.
The 1987 Plymouth Voyager had been reported stolen from the 1500 block of Military Avenue earlier in the day.
TV, video games missing in burglaries
Six residential burglaries were reported in the city and in the county during the weekend.
* A 60-inch Mitsubishi TV valued at $1,500 and an RCA DVD and TV combo valued at $350 were reported missing at 2:47 this morning from a home in the 100 block of Elizabeth Circle.
* An Estate electric stove valued at $299 was reported missing at 2:34 p.m. Sunday from a home in the 1700 block of Martha Street.
* A Gameboy valued at $100, a PlayStation 2 game system valued at $200 and an Apex DVD player valued at $60 were reported missing at 9:29 p.m. Sunday from an apartment in the 20 block of Carol Place.
* A red push lawn mower valued at $200 and a red weed trimmer valued at $200 were reported missing at 12:50 p.m. Saturday from a home in the 1100 block of Jeff Davis Road.
* A 22-inch Briggs and Stratton push lawn mower valued at $150 was reported missing at 11:10 p.m. from a home in the 100 block of Abraham Drive.
* A 40-inch Polaroid LCD TV valued at $935 and a 22-caliber Black Barrell revolver with a wood handle valued at $300 were reported missing at 10:28 p.m. from a home in the 300 block of Possum Hollow Road.
Two car burglaries reported over weekend
Two auto burglaries were reported in the city and in the county during the weekend.
* Cigarettes, a pair of Jordan sneakers valued at $100, a BlackBerry phone valued at $140 and $65 cash were reported missing at 9:08 p.m. Saturday from a 2005 Chevy Impala in the 200 block of RL Chase Drive.
* A BlackBerry Pearl cell phone valued at $400, two Sony Xplod subwoofers valued at $125, a Rockford Fosgate amplifier valued at $450 and a Schoche stereo valued at $150 were reported missing at 10:55 a.m. from a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix in the 6800 block of Paxton Road.
Two people injured in wreck on Cherry
Two Vicksburg people were sent to the hospital after being involved in a one-car wreck at 4:46 p.m. Saturday at 912 Cherry St.
The driver, Lillian Nyasani, 35, 216 Manchester Drive, and her passenger, George Githuku, 57, 501 Fairways Drive, were treated and released from River Region Medical Center Saturday, said Allen Karel, hospital spokesman.
No wreck information was available this morning.
