Police said this morning they don’t know if two armed robberies of pedestrians about seven blocks apart are related.
The suspects in both robberies, reported at 8:40 p.m. Monday and 1:05 this morning, were described as two black males in their late teens or early 20s and about 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-7. A handgun was reported used in both cases, Lt. Bobby Stewart of the Vicksburg Police Department said.
The first robbery was reported in the 2300 block of Oak Street by a man who was leaving his home. He told police a Nokia cell phone valued at $150 and $40 were taken. In the second case, the victim was forced at gunpoint to hand over his wallet, which contained $300, Stewart said.
Neither of the victims reported any injuries.
