William Robinson Sr. died Friday, May 1, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. He was 86.

Mr. Robinson was retired from International Paper. He was a member of Christian Hope M.B. Church in Natchez and had served in the Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie Knight and Rosie Lee Robinson.

Survivors include his wife, Willie Mae Washington Robinson; one son, William Robinson Jr. of Vicksburg; seven daughters, Ida Robinson, Elodie McDaniel Hayden, Daisey Robinson and Patricia Robinson, all of Chicago, Barbara Harris of Dallas and Mary Robinson and Sandra Robinson, both of Natchez; one sister, Mary Lee Fitzgerald of Fayette; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends, including Diane McCoy Boothe of Vicksburg and Johnny Cole and Gia Wiley, both of New Orleans.

Services will be at noon Thursday at Christian Hope M.B. Church in Natchez. Burial will follow at Greater St. Mark Cemetery in Natchez under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the church Thursday from 11 a.m. until the service.
