Talent show set for Saturday in Kings Community

The Pro-Arts Coalition of Vicksburg will launch the Talent Will Out Fest summer program at noon Saturday at Bowman’s Store in the Kings Community and run each weekend at different sites through July 4.
The Pro-Arts Coalition of Vicksburg was founded in 2004 with a mission to promote the Beah Richards and Willie Dixon annual birthday celebration in July.
Richards and Dixon were Vicksburg natives, both born on July 1, who rose to fame in the entertainment industry.
Richards was famous for her role in the 1967 film “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner,” and Dixon’s a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The talent exhibit will be from noon until 4 p.m. and is open to all youths ages 2-17.
A 2- to 7-minute routine is acceptable in poetry, music, song, dance, drama, comedy or oratory, said Pro-Arts Coalition president, Earnest McBride.
Participants can pre-register at Bowman’s Store, in the 3500 block of North Washington Street; Kings Community Center, 224 RL Chase Circle; Jackson Street Center, 923 Walnut St.; L.D.’s Kitchen, 1111 Mulberry St.; and South Street Shoppette, 1318 South St.
Each participant will receive a gift for performing.
The event is free.
The next gathering will be at noon May 23.
