PORT GIBSON — Mary C. Taylor died Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Claiborne County Senior Care Center in Port Gibson. She was 83.

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Millie Gibson Young; and her husband.

She is survived by a brother, Selvin Young of Port Gibson; her stepmother, Magnolia Young of Jackson; and nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives, including Mary and James Johnson of Port Gibson and Roosevelt Willis of Flint, Mich.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Second Baptist Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Leon Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Mercy Seat Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 today at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
