Margie M. Strong died Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Heritage House in Vicksburg. She was 84.

Born in Raleigh, Miss., Mrs. Strong had lived in Utica for the past 57 years. She retired from Westinghouse Corp. in Vicksburg after 37 years with the company and was a member of Bear Creek Methodist Protestant Church in Hinds County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Strong.

Survivors include her son, David E. Strong of Utica; her daughter, Rebecca Sisk of Carriere, Miss; her sister, Leo Demayer of Andover, Kan.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bear Creek Methodist Protestant Church with Minister B.F. Gerald officiating. Burial will be at Bear Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Monday at the church until the hour of service.

Pallbearers will be Larry Ross, Darrell Baker, Tim Moody, Tommy Moody, Scott Sisk, Tom Sisk and Brad Strong.

Glenwood Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
