Five authors are set to sign copies of their books this summer at a downtown retailer.

Robert S. McElvaine will kick off the lineup Thursday at Lorelei Books with a 4 to 6 p.m. event. He will sign copies of “Grand Theft Jesus: The Hijacking of Religion in America.”

• At 5 p.m. June 15, Neil White will sign “In the Sanctuary of Outcasts: A Memoir,” which details the prison time he served at Carville, La., the last leper colony in mainland America.

• At 2 p.m. June 27, John Sumrall will sign “Classic Magnolia Rock: History of Original Mississippi Rock and Roll 1953-1970.”

• At 2 p.m. July 18, Mississippi native Sam Haskell will sign “Promises I Made My Mother,” an account of the TV executive’s rise to success. Entertainment will be provided by Vicksburg’s Osgood and Blaque.

• At 4 p.m. Aug. 14, Robert Dalby, author of the “Piggly Wiggly” novels, will sign the third in the series, “A Piggly Wiggly Wedding.”

Vicksburg author to sign her book

Christian Books and More will host Vicksburg author Robin Myers for a book-signing from 1 to 3 p.m. June 20.

Myers will sign “A Caregiver’s Journey,” a book about those who provide care for their ailing family members. Myers is also the author of a children’s book, “Pinky Rabbit Learns to Share.”

The book store is located at 2480 South Frontage Road, Suite G.

JAS bird walk set for June 6

The Jackson Audubon Society’s Saturday Bird Walk, a regular event hosted by the organization, will be at 8 a.m. June 6.

Participants are asked to meet at LeFleur’s Bluff State Park at the Mayes Lake Entrance. Cost to enter the state park, located at 115 Lakeland Terrace in Jackson, is $3 per car.

Antiques event set in Natchez

The 32nd Natchez Antiques Forum — themed Pathways to the Past: Art, Antiques & Gardens — will be Sept. 10-12 at the Country Inn & Suites in Natchez.

Presented by the Pilgrimage Garden Club, the forum will feature six speakers from across the country.
