Dewitt and Ernestine Thomas of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Gladys Marie, to Charles Thomas. Mr. Thomas is the son of Essie Hicks of Port Gibson, the late John H. Thomas and the late Queen Ester Thomas.

Miss Thomas is the granddaughter of Warren and Isola Thomas of Vicksburg and the late Grim and Martha Williams.

Mr. Thomas is the grandson of the late Arthur Stamps and the late Julia Stamps.

The bride-elect attended Warren Central High School and Utica Junior College, where she studied business. She is employed at Cappaert Housing.

The prospective groom attended Port Gibson High School. He is employed with Thomas Towing.

Vows will be exchanged July 4, 2009, at Locust Grove M.B. Church, Mississippi 27. A reception will follow at Unique Banquet Hall. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.
