Curtis Brewer

Curtis Brewer died Thursday, May 14, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. He was 85.

Mr. Brewer was born in Greene County in Mississippi. He had lived in Vicksburg for over 70 years. He retired from LeTourneau, where he was a heavy-equipment operator and truck driver. After retirement he was self-employed. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ransom A. Brewer and Lavette Dunham Brewer; and a sister, Helen Greer.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Elsie Brewer of Vicksburg; four sons, Gerald Brewer, and his wife, Rita, of Amarillo, Texas, Curtis Brewer and his wife, Janice, and Earl Brewer and his wife, Sandi, all of Vicksburg, and Lawrence Chambliss and his wife, Lee Earl, of Brandon; two daughters, Barbara McCaa of Vicksburg and Donna Moulder and her husband, Dean, of Vicksburg; and eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2 today at Green Acres Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. La Don Dawson officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the hour of the service at Glenwood Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Purvis Hoben, Mike Chambliss, Danny Chambliss, J.R. Williams, Todd Hoben and Craig Danczyk.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Hoben, Buddy Hampton, Larry Hampton, Tommy Hoben, Larry Brock and Tommy Keen.
