Ida Marie Chapman

UTICA — Ida Marie Chapman died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at the Claiborne County Senior Care Center in Port Gibson. She was 86.

A native of Hamilton, she lived her life in the Utica area. She was a member of the Claiborne County Home Extension Club and Midway Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel S. and Birdie Mae Alexander Moulder; and her husband, Theron I. Chapman, in 1998.

She is survived by three sons, Tom Chapman of Hermanville, Alan Chapman of Pattison and Ken Chapman of Utica; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a special and precious friend, Margaret Mitchell.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Funeral Home chapel with Donnie Cain officiating. Burial will follow at the Utica Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in Utica.

Pallbearers will be Todd Chapman, Tommy Chapman, Billy Byrnes, Herschel Byrnes, Luke Byrnes, Faye B. Tinsley and Shelton Fulghum.

Marie always said that good looks, like flowers, will wilt and fade away, but good deeds will remain forever. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Midway Church of Christ, 1005 Midway Road, Hermanville, MS 39086 or your favorite charity.
