Funeral services for Vivian Wilson Allen, 79, of Vicksburg, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gill Chapel in Winnsboro, La. with the Rev. Terry White officiating. Burial will follow at Odgen Cemetery near Liddieville community under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Vivian was born to the union of her parents, W.L. and Willie Hynum Wilson on Nov. 9, 1929, and passed from this life on June 6, 2009, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. She was a member of Boeuf River Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William A. Allen; a son, William D. Allen; and three brothers.

Vivian is survived by her daughter, Nancy Allen of Vicksburg; grandsons, Joshua Sherman and Chase Sherman; granddaughters, Jennifer Allen, Courtney Allen and Christine Allen Welch; two sisters, Vedia W. Watkins of Starkville and Mary W. Davis of Dallas; one brother, Clarence E. Wilson of Coldwater, Miss.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Kenny, Todd, Jason, Matthew, Coy and Blake Wilson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Watkins, Sam Watkins, Wayne Hendry, Dr. Thomas Sligh, Dr. Daniel Dare and Dr. Murray Whitaker.
