Theda Mae DeRossette

Theda Mae DeRossette died Sunday, June 7, 2009. She was 77.
The daughter of the late Alton Fowler and Melba Walsworth Fowler of St. Joseph, La., Ms. DeRossette was a native of Jonesboro, La., and had lived in Vicksburg for 61 years. She was a licensed practical nurse for many of Vicksburg’s hospitals and care centers for 54 years. She also worked as an instructor at American College and within the school system with handicapped children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Ann DeRossette.
She is survived by two sons, Bobby DeRossette of Vicksburg and Billy DeRossette of Baton Rouge; a daughter, Sue DeRossette Tippy of St. Amant., La.; a brother, Ellis Fowler of Baton Rouge; and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jerry Williams officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Mount Zion Rest Cemetery in Jonesboro, La.
Pallbearers will be Tyler DeRossette, J.W. Mullen, Kyle Schnebelen, Johnny Laurent, William Tippy and Ellis Fowler.
Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. Russell Barnes.
