A third suspect was added today to the pair being sought in the shooting death of a Tallulah teenager Sunday morning.
Brandon Holmes, in his late 20s or early 30s, is wanted for questioning along with previously named Mario Oliver, 27, and Shawn Allen, 24, said Tallulah Police Department Assistant Chief Willie Turner.
All three are from Tallulah, Turner said, but street addresses were not available. Oliver and Allen were named suspects Monday.
Maj. Neal Horath of the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Department said deputies “have an idea where they might be.”
The two are considered armed and dangerous, a spokesman with the Louisiana State Police said Monday.
John Hughes, 16, was shot and killed Sunday around 4 a.m. in front of Madison Community Apartments, in the 800 block of Tank Street. About a dozen witnesses have been questioned, but the motive is unknown, said Horath.
The investigation is at a “delicate” stage, Turner said.
Louisiana State Police Trooper Mark Dennis said Monday the three may have had an argument, “possibly involving a female.”
Hughes lived with his father, John Carroll, on Florida Street in Tallulah, said Turner.
The Madison Parish Coroner, Dr. Thomas Neumann, handled the call Sunday morning but is out of town for the week and could not be reached.
Beckwith Golden Gate of Tallulah is handing funeral arrangements.
