An armed car robbery in Vicksburg Thursday evening ended in the recovery of a second vehicle that had been reported stolen in Jackson, said Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart.
A woman told police she was approached about 8:30 by three men as she returned to her 2008 Dodge Avenger at the Shell Jubilee gas station, 4747 U.S. 61 South. They took the vehicle at gunpoint.
The car was found this morning by Jackson police at Violet Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Stewart said, but a purse with $600 was missing.
The victim described the men as black and in their late teens or early 20s, said Stewart. He believes they are from Hinds County, and are not connected to a string of armed robberies in Vicksburg and Warren County in May.
Separately, while responding to the call at the Jubilee, police found a 2004 Chevy Tahoe parked there that had been reported missing earlier in the day from Jackson, Stewart said.
Second arrest made in credit card fraud
A second person has been arrested in a case of fraud, in which a local woman is accused of booking hotel rooms with a stolen credit card number, said Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart.
Victor Alexander Richardson, 28, 735 Joyce Lane, was arrested at 5:45 p.m. Thursday at his home and charged with accessory to credit card fraud, said Stewart. He was in the Issaquena County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
Richardson is accused of giving Terri Hughes, 25, 106 Pinehurst St., the card number, Stewart said. Hughes was arrested Monday night and charged with felony credit card fraud. She remained in the Warren County Jail on a $40,000 bond.
