Myron D. Taylor, formerly of Vicksburg, died Thursday, June 18, 2009, in Canton, Ohio. He was 55.

A longtime resident of Jacksonville, Fla., Mr. Taylor was a member of Southside Church of God in Christ. He retired as a special education teacher from the Jacksonville Public School System.

He was a 1971 graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School, attended Dillard University in New Orleans and received a master’s degree from the University of North Florida.

He was preceded in death by his father, Percy C. Taylor.

Survivors include his mother, Rosie L. Taylor of Vicksburg; two brothers, Dr. Malcolm P. Taylor of Jackson and Reginald C. Taylor of Shreveport, La.; three sisters, Brenda G. Taylor and Elaine T. Davis, both of Cleveland, Ohio, and Dr. Connie C. Taylor of Jackson; and nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives, including Lloyd Taylor of Vicksburg.
