Second teen charged in theft on Parkside

A second juvenile suspect has been charged in an auto burglary reported Tuesday in the 1400 block of Parkside Drive.

The 14-year-old was taken to the Vicksburg Police Department by his mother at 4 p.m. Thursday, said Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart.

An iPod reported missing was found.

The boy had been charged Tuesday with a summer curfew violation along with a 16-year-old also charged in the auto burglary.

The 14-year-old was released to his mother pending an appearance in youth court, said Stewart.

Two city men charged for bad checks

Two Vicksburg men were in Warren County Jail this morning charged with passing bad checks.

Douglas Howard, 43, 1603 Military Ave., was arrested on a warrant at 5:53 p.m. Thursday as he walked along Military Avenue at Roosevelt, said Lt. Bobby Stewart. Howard, held without bond, is accused of passing a check June 5 at a Shell Station on U.S. 61 South, said Stewart.

Charles Myrick, 38, 302 Katherine Drive, was arrested at 12:25 p.m. Thursday at his home and charged with two counts of uttering a forgery, said Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace. Also held without bond, Myrick is accused of passing two bad checks totaling $351 in August, said Pace.

Vehicle stolen in Texas found here

A 2000 Chevrolet Suburban was recovered at the Greyhound bus station, 1295 S. Frontage Road, after being reported missing on Monday in Texas, Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Separately, an auto burglary was reported in the city Thursday.

A Pioneer radio valued at $250 and 15 CDs valued at $150 were reported missing at 8:39 a.m. from a 2000 Saturn in the 900 block of Crawford Street.

Vicksburg man jailed for probation violation

A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail this morning for probation violation.

Kenneth Richards, 39, 226 Meadowvale Drive, was arrested at 11 a.m. Thursday and held without bond.
