“Sesame Street Live” is celebrating its 30th live tour season this year and will be at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson Aug. 28-30.

“Elmo’s Green Thumb,” one of four “Sesame Street” traveling theatrical performances for children, features a lesson about patience and the ecosystem through a story line that tells of Elmo planting a sunflower he names Sunny.

The other shows traveling nationwide are “1-2-3 Imagine!,” “When Elmo Grows Up” and “Elmo Makes Music.”

The show will feature 16 live characters from the “Sesame Street” cast, including Elmo and Abbie Cadabbys, who will sing and dance in a high-tech stage ensemble. The cast will perform a Broadway-style musical geared toward children.

Tickets will go on sale July 20 and can be purchased online, by phone or at the coliseum box office. They are $13, $16 and $20, with a limited number of Gold Circle seats available for $25. All opening night seats have been reduced to $13, except Gold Circle.

A $1 facility fee will apply to tickets purchased via the Internet, phone or outside ticketing outlets, and a $2 fee if purchased from the box office.

After the Jackson show, “Sesame Street Live” will travel to Southaven Sept. 3-6 for a show at the Desoto Civic Center.
