A Warren County man died Friday night, hours after the motorcycle he was driving left Tucker Road and crashed, authorities said.
Eddie Humphries, 58, 7555 Freetown Road, was pronounced dead at 7:05 p.m. at River Region Medical Center, said Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey. Humphries died of internal injuries, Huskey said.
The wreck occurred about 3:45 Friday afternoon, said Bill Jeffers, a Warren County sheriff’s deputy who worked the wreck. Humphries was driving a 2009 Harley Davidson.
“He was a biker to the core,” said Humphries’ wife, Dianna. “He wanted to go out on a bike, and he did.”
Dianna Humphries said she and her husband had been married 24 years. She said he had vowed not to shave his beard until William “Billy” Benis, her son from a previous marriage, returned from his deployment with the U.S. Army in Iraq.
Details of the wreck were incomplete.
Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said there was no indication that other vehicles were involved.
No autopsy will be performed, Huskey said. Glenwood Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Friday’s wreck brings the total traffic fatalities in Warren County this year to six.
