Charles Everette Varnado

PORT GIBSON — Charles Everette Varnado died Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. He was 62.

A lifelong resident of Port Gibson, Mr. Varnado retired from National Plastics in Port Gibson after 21 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Varnado in 2007.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Abbott Varnado of Port Gibson; two daughters, Denise Carson and Kristy Burke, both of Vicksburg; his mother, Nell Varnado of Port Gibson; a stepson, Chris Raner of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, Daniel Varnado of Monroe, La.; a sister, Annell Parman of Port Gibson; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home. Burial will follow at McBride Cemetery in Jefferson County.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Roberts, Garnet Van Norman, Johnny Purvis, Steven Parman, Billy Parman and Ronnie Nations.

Honorary pallbearers will be Darwin Burke, Rusty Varnado and Garnet Van Norman III.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, McBride Cemetery or Union Church Cemetery.
