Diamond was outstanding for the M-Braves as he set a new team-high with 10 Ks in the game. As well as he pitched, he still took the loss after giving up three runs in the third inning.

Tim Torres doubled and scored on a groundout by Nic Ungs. Lorenzo Scott doubled and scored on a Chris De La Cruz single and De La Cruz scored from first on a Logan Morrison double. After three, the Suns led 3-0.

The score remained tied at 3-0 until Mike Stanton stepped to the plate in the eighth. With runners at first and second and one out, Stanton jumped all over a 1-2 pitch and deposited it into the Braves’ bullpen in left field. His sixth homer of the year gave the visitors a 6-0 lead.

Diamond gave up three runs on six hits through seven innings while fanning a team-high 10 Suns. He fell to 3-8.

The Braves head to Birmingham, Ala. to take on the Barons in a four-game series starting tonight.
