The First Presbyterian Church now stands at the corner of South and Cherry streets where this house, the home of Sen. Walker Brooke, was located until 1908. Brooke was a U.S. senator and Confederate State congressman. He choked to death on a raw oyster in 1869. The photo is from the Old Court House Museum collection.
