412th soldier arrested for theft of computers

A U.S. Army Reserve officer from Louise was in the Warren County Jail today charged with stealing four laptop computers from the 412th Engineering Command.

Adrian Carr, 26, 196 East St., was arrested at the 412th headquarters, 1265 Porters Chapel Road, at 8:50 p.m. Saturday.

He is accused of stealing the computers valued at $4,800 on March 2 and is charged with grand larceny and burglary of a commercial building.

TV, tools, DVDs among missing items

Four burglaries were reported in the city over the weekend.

A 52-inch Panasonic TV valued at $1,400 was reported missing from a house in the 1700 block of Vicklan Street Friday at 6:30 p.m.

A  Philip’s DVD player valued at $40, CDs/DVDs valued at $75 and three pairs of Andis clippers valued at $180 each were reported missing from a business in the 1600 block of Grove Street on Saturday at 3:15 a.m., said Lt. Bobby Stewart of the Vicksburg Police Department.

A Milwaukee drill valued at $100, $2, a Makita saw valued at $150, a Grass Hog weed trimmer valued at $50 and a Workmate tool bag valued at $20 were reported missing from a vehicle in the 3200 block of Drummond Street Saturday at 6:48 a.m.

A Poulan chain saw valued at $150 was reported missing from a business in the 2100 block of North Washington Street Sunday at 8:20 a.m.

Bellaire clothes dryer blamed for house fire

A clothes dryer was blamed for a house fire at 38 Bellaire Drive early Saturday that damaged a kitchen and a utility room.

Vicksburg Fire Investigator Leslie Decareaux said 10 firefighters responded to the blaze that was reported at 1:46 a.m.

At least two people were in the house, Decareaux said, but no injuries were reported.
