Aspiring teachers will be offered three free information sessions in Vicksburg by the Teach and Inspire Scholarship Program.

The sessions will be at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Wingate by Wyndham hotel, 115 Cypress Center Blvd.

They are open to anyone interested in obtaining teacher certification in math, science and English.

Teach and Inspire is funded by a U.S. Department of Education Transition to Teaching grant and is designed to recruit and prepare highly qualified people to teach through alternative certification methods.

The program offers full scholarships toward certification through the American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence, a nonprofit, Washington D.C.-based organization. A $1,000 stipend is also available after.
