The city will close the intersection of Grove and Levee streets Tuesday and Wednesday and detour traffic in order to accommodate maintenance work on the Levee Street floodwall, city communications manager Barry Graham said.

Northbound traffic using Levee to access North Washington Street will be directed to take a right on Clay Street, a left on Mulberry Street, and a left on Washington, Graham said.  Vehicles seeking to go to Levee from North Washington will have to take a right on Mulberry, a right on Clay and a left on Levee.

Graham said the work was timed to coincide with low river stage.
