ROLLING FORK — John Michael “Bobby” Diffey Jr. died Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork. He was 68.

A Sharkey County native, Mr. Diffey had lived in Rolling Fork most of his life. He was a retired U.S. rural mail carrier and a member of First Baptist Church of Rolling Fork. He was a veteran of the Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Robbie R. Diffey of Rolling Fork; one son, Robert Michael Diffey of Charlotte, N.C.; two daughters, Susan Wilkinson of Greenville and Ashley Nichols of Rolling Fork; a sister, Doris Tucker of Acworth, Ga.; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Rolling Fork with the Rev. Millard Caulder officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery in Rolling Fork. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.

Pallbearers will be Harvey Cockrell, Kelly Perry, Rob Higgs, Steve Thomas, David Wayne Tillman, Patrick Pickle, Joe Taylor, Doug Moore, Charles David Shield and David Sellers.
