Vicksburg Packers annual scrimmage

The Vicksburg Packers youth football team will take on the Jackson Redskins and Steelers in their annual scrimmage on July 25 at 9 a.m. at Vicksburg Junior High’s stadium. Cost will be $1 and concessions will be available. Registration for summer continues. For information, call 601-291-1370.

Warren County Golf Championship

The Warren County Golf Championship is scheduled for Clear Creek Golf Club on July 25-26. The cost is $100 and the tourney is open to Warren County residents. The format will be individual stroke play for 36 holes and the tourney will be flighted after the first round with the top three flights playing from the championship tees on Sunday. Entry fee includes two rounds of golf and cart, practice round green fee, lunch and beverages each day and flight prizes from the pro shop. Clear Creek Ladies Golf Association report

The Ladies of Clear Creek played a game of Odd Front and Even Back on July 8. Winners were: A flight, Pam Thomas; B flight, Joyce Johnson; C flight, Linda McHann; D flight, Sandy Russell. A chip-in was made by Sherry Aultman on No. 17.

Clear Creek couples scramble results

Clear Creek Golf Club was the venue for a couples scramble on July 11. In the championship flight, Ronnie Gill and Stevie Gaddis finished first with a 65. Second was Glen and Kathy Roscoe with a 65 and the pairing of Jamie and Guina Elliott with a 66. In the first flight, Bubba Hanks and Sissy Kern were first with a 69. Second was Robert Carroll and Gaby Davidson with a 70 and third was Ricky Hanks and Charlene Hughes with a 71.  Second flight was won by Rob and Jackie Gain with a 74. Second was Jody and Joy Murphy with a 76 and third was Jeff and Penni Burnett with a 76.

Boys U-15 soccer tryouts at Bovina

Boys U-15 Division I soccer tryouts will be held at Mlakar Field in Bovina on Saturday, from 10 a.m until noon.  Each participant must bring shin guards and a water bottle.  For information, call Don Rowland at 601-529-2258.

Vicksburg Buccaneers summer registration

MSU Alumni Paul Geer  Memorial Golf tourney

The Warren County Chapter of the Mississippi State University Alumni Association will hold the 19th annual Paul Geer Memorial Bulldog Classic scholarship golf tournament on July 22 at Vicksburg Country Club.
