Patsy Fizer Byrd died Friday, July 17, 2009, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was 75.

Mrs. Byrd was a native of Louisiana, lived in Port Gibson for many years and had resided in Vicksburg for the past 30 years. She retired from Houston Estate after 30 years as a bookkeeper, and was a member of Bovina Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, D.B. Byrd.

Survivors include two daughters, Debra Shinn of Okolona, Miss., and Susan Byrd of Riverside, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Glenwood Chapel with the Rev. Jess Sumrall officiating. Burial will be at Wintergreen Cemetery in Port Gibson. Visitation will be today from 2 until 4 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg.

Pallbearers are Lee Bruce, Mike Coomes, Charles Hill, Percy Worley, Bill Downey and Bill Arrington.
