The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency has made available loans for socially disadvantaged, beginning farmers who want to operate in Warren and Hinds counties.
The socially disadvantaged, according to specifications, are women, Hispanics, Native Americans, blacks, Asians and Pacific Islanders. The agency will sell or lease a farm already in its inventory, or they will issue a loan for the purchase of land on the open market.
