NITTA YUMA — W.C. Stamps died Monday, July 27, 2009, at his home. He was 76.
Survivors include his wife, Cora Stamps of Nitta Yuma; three sons, Richard Warren of Anguilla, Timmie Stamps of Memphis and Darryl Gayles of Chicago; five daughters, Ethel Turner of Arcola, Diane Stamps of Nitta Yuma, Pearl Stamps of Anguilla and Barbara Ann and Shirley Stamps, both of Rolling Fork; three brothers, James Stamps, W.H. Smith and Emmanuel Stamps Jr., all of Chicago; three sisters, Ethel Stamps, Rosie Mae Stamps and Annette King, all of Chicago; 42 grandchildren; 107 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Christian Light M.B. Church in Anguilla with the Rev. Elijah Eason officiating. Burial will follow at Nitta Yuma Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 6 p.m. Saturday at Walker Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.
