MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Ernestine “Tine” Davis Woods died Monday, July 27, 2009, at the Medical Center in Milwaukee. She was 72.

Mrs. Woods was born in Lorman, where she was on the usher board of Morning Star M.B. Church. She had lived and worked in Port Gibson before moving to Milwaukee.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert L. Davis, Sr.; her sister, Geraldine Davis; and brothers Robert Davis Jr., Cornelius Davis Sr. and Johnny Davis.

She is survived by her son, Will Newman Jr. of Milwaukee; mother, Alice Reed Davis of Milwaukee; two sisters, Al’Lean M. Davis and Mary A. Davis, both of Milwaukee; two brothers, Charles Davis of Milwaukee and Michael Davis of Olympia Fields, Ill.; two aunts and one uncle; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Services, directed by Leon L. Williamson Funeral Home, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Unity M.B. Church in Milwaukee, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the service. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
