One of three Vicksburg teens charged in a March 15 murder appeared in Warren County Circuit Court Friday after being indicted by the August session of the grand jury.

Gemini Porter, 16, 2501 Culkin Road, was arraigned before Circuit Court Judge Isadore Patrick.

Porter is accused of shooting 25-year old Antonio Turner as Turner sat in a car just after 1 a.m. on Alcorn Drive, a street in Rolling Acres, a subdivision owned by the Vicksburg Housing Authority. His trial date was set for Feb. 22.

Two other teens accused of acting with Porter are expected to be arraigned Monday. They are 17-year-old Kersey Young, 1115 Adams Lane, and Roosevelt Dewayne Harris, also 17, 1803 First East St.

Also arraigned Friday — on multiple charges — was Adam Rader, 26, 103 Cross Drive. Rader was indicted for murder in the shooting death of Danny Miller, 25, 107 Belva Drive, in an Easter Sunday altercation over a bottle of Crown Royal whiskey.

Miller was shot once following the fight at a home in the 1400 block of Oakland Street, near Baldwin Ferry Road and Court Street.

Rader was also arraigned on two separate arrests for sale of a controlled substance on Aug. 14 and Nov. 19. His trial date on all three cases was set for March 1.

Also, Trent Rashad Reynolds, 26, 1501 1/2 Lane St., was indicted for the April 3 armed robbery of Occasion Wine and Spirits, 989B U.S. 61 North. An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from the store clerk’s wallet, and a shot was fired into her car. Though, she was not injured.

This session of the grand jury, chosen at random from county records, was impaneled Monday. Jurors completed their work Thursday. In all, they reviewed evidence in 113 cases against 124 individuals, returning indictments in 101 of the cases.

Twelve no-bills, with not enough evidence to prosecute, were issued on 12 of the cases.

Patrick arraigned 18 individuals Thursday and 35 Friday. Two others charged with crimes waived arraignments, and their indictments were released by the District Attorney’s office Friday.

Patrick will hold court again Monday to conclude this round of arraignments. Names of those indicted are not released until they are arraigned, the court action during which they are informed of the formal charges against them and have a trial date set.
