Thomas, Thomas exchange vows

Charles Thomas and Gladys Marie Thomas were married at 2 p.m. July 4, 2009, at Locust Grove M.B. Church. The Rev. Robert Miller officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Dewitt and Ernestine Thomas of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of the late Warren and Isola Thomas and the late Grim and Martha Williams, all of Vicksburg.

The groom is the son of Essie Hicks of Port Gibson, the late John H. Thomas and the late Queen Ester Thomas. He is the grandson of the late Arthur Stamps and the late Julia Stamps.

The bride was given in marriage by her nephew, Malcolm Williams, and her father. Her chosen colors were canary yellow and Victorian lilac.

A candle in memory of the groom’s parents was illuminated by Gladys Thomas, sister of the groom.

Soloists Kevin Winters and Linda Powell were accompanied by C.J. Williams, musician.

Maid of honor was Daphane King of Vicksburg. Matron of honor was Charlotta Jones of Atlanta. Bridesmaids were Wilma Anderson, Janice Thomas, Mae Gibson Paige, Shameka Thomas, Sebrina Thomas, Felisha Jones and Shanell Burden.

Dewayne Thomas and Ricky Payne served as best men. Groomsmen were Clarence Thomas, Larry Davis, Herbert Williams, David Butler and Dewitt Thomas Jr. Junior groomsman was Justin Williams.

Ushers were Cassidy Carson, Audrey Carson and Kendra Carson.

Flower girls were Corneisha Thomas and Brianna Thomas. Ring bearer was Aaron Jefferson.

Junior bride was Shamia Thomas. Che’Ondra Allen served as miniature bride.

Bell ringer was Terrance Thomas.

Special wedding assistants were Pamela Durman, James Cessna Jr., Mitch Kelly, Geralline Wilkerson, Brenda Love, Georgia Hicks, Brenda Hill, Yvonne Thomas and Joey Richardson.

A reception followed at Unique Banquet Hall. Hostesses were Kristy Wilson, Krystal Wilson, Shelia Thomas, Laura King, Carla Brinnan, LaFarran Durman, Keturah Warfield, Leandra Murrell, Chandria Murrell, Alexis Murrell, Doris Murrell and Alberta Wheeler.

Tea girl was Tonie Hicks.

Guests were entertained with music by DJ Reo Slaughter.

The couple will make their home in Vicksburg. The bride is employed at Cappaert Housing, and the groom is employed with Thomas Towing.

Rehearsal dinner

A rehearsal dinner was held at the bridal couple’s home.

Bachelorette party

Daphane King and the bride’s daughter, Shameka Thomas, hosted a bachelorette party.
