City woman arrested for crack cocaine possession

A Vicksburg woman was arrested for possession of crack cocaine during a traffic stop at Walnut and Crawford streets at 1 a.m. Sunday, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.
Linda Hernandez, 54, 48 Gastrell Lane, was being held without bond at the Issaquena County jail until her initial court appearance today.
Computer games hot in city thefts
Several items were reported stolen in the city, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.
• A GE air conditioner valued at $150 was reported stolen from a home in the 1300 block of Wood Street at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
• A Compaq laptop computer valued at $800 and an Xbox 360 video game console valued at $300 were reported stolen from a home in the 100 block of Elizabeth Circle at 10:45 p.m. Friday.
• An Xbox 360 video game console valued at $300 and three Xbox video games valued at $75 were reported stolen from a home in the 100 block of Eastover Drive at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
• A Cannon digital camera valued at $800 and a Nextel cellular phone valued at $200 were reported stolen from a 2001 Chrysler Town and Country van parked in the 4100 block of South Frontage Road at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
•About $280 was reported stolen from a 1993 Cadillac parked at Wal-Mart at 7:48 p.m. Saturday.
• Four DVDs valued at $20 each and $13 cash were reported stolen from a home in the 1900 block of the Baldwin Ferry Road at 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
• A purse and contents, no value given, along with $100 were reported stolen from a 1991 Jeep parked in the 400 block of Lakehill Drive at 12:53 Sunday afternoon.
Truck stolen here recovered in Jackson
A pickup reported stolen in Vicksburg was recovered in Jackson during the weekend.
The Jackson Police Department recovered an abandoned 2009 GMC Sierra pickup valued at $33,000 parked in the 100 block of Taylor Street in Jackson at 2:52 p.m. Sunday, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.
The pickup was reported stolen from George Carr dealership at 2950 S. Frontage Road in Vicksburg Aug. 3.
Stewart said no damage to the vehicle was reported.
Fishing equipment, beer missing in county
Beer and fishing equipment were reported stolen in the county during the weekend, Warren County Sheriff’s office records showed.
Ten 12-ounce bottles of Michelob Ultra Light beer valued at $15 were reported stolen from a shop in the 700 block of Lake Forest Drive at 1:20 p.m. Saturday.
A blue and gray tackle box containing bass lures valued at $600 were reported stolen from a boat parked at a home in the 1500 block of Boy Scout Road at 11:32 a.m. Sunday.
County man injured in wreck on Nailor
A Warren County man was injured in a one-car wreck early Saturday.
John Tapp, 21, 120 Andrews Drive, was taken to River Region Medical Center after the wreck at 6325 Nailor Road at 1:14 a.m. Saturday.
He was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
