Meeting Monday, Warren County supervisors:

• Accepted a funding request from the Vicksburg Warren School District up more than $1.2 million to $25,193,176 based on the tax rate remaining at 46.2 mills. Last year’s request totaled $23,920,767. Supervisors must set a levy sufficient to raise the request.

• Received a report that more than 270 properties, mostly businesses, owe $531,414.01 in unpaid property taxes from 2006 through 2008. Supervisors said they will explore legal avenues to collect the taxes.

• Agreed that the sheriff’s department bill the Vicksburg Warren School District for deputies assigned to football games. State law allows the school district to reimburse the sheriff’s department for the costs of working school-sanctioned events. Meetings were set for today between school and sheriff’s officials on the topic.
