Margaret C. “Tit” Wells died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, at her home. She was 65.

Born in Warren County, Mrs. Wells was a homemaker and a member of St. Mark M.B. Church on North Washington Street.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim Sr. and Cornelia Harris Butler; two brothers, Henry Butler and Jim Butler Jr.; and her grandparents, including Mattie Harris and George Harris.

Survivors include two sons, Aaron Wells of Vicksburg and Alphonse Wells Jr. of Dallas, Texas; three daughters, Peggy Wells Franklin and Callie Wells Williams, both of Vicksburg, and Monta Wells Blue of Chattanooga, Tenn.; eight sisters, Mattie B. Eatmon, Lubertha King and Lucille Williams, all of Vicksburg, and Willie Mae Butler, Marcella Butler, Clara Butler, Rose Johnson and Josephine Ellis, all of Chicago; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives, including Samuel J’Cory King of Vicksburg.
