Bond set for teen accused in beating

A Vicksburg teen arrested by Vicksburg police on Thursday and accused of attacking two of the six AmeriCorps volunteers in Vicksburg on Aug. 2 was being held on bond.

Joseph Lane, 17, 733 Johnson St., was charged with aggravated assault and two counts of strong-armed robbery and held in the Warren County Jail on a $25,000 bond, jail records showed.

The other three teens arrested in the attacks were Earnest Atkins, 18, 2934 Park Ave., held in the Warren County Jail on a $50,000 bond; Joshua Coffee, 17, 241 Demby Drive, released on a $5,000 bond on Thursday; and an 16-year-old who was being held at the Warren County Youth Detention Center.
