One held, one sought in mall armed robbery

A Ridgeland woman arrested Tuesday was charged in an armed robbery for which Vicksburg police are looking for a Jackson man.
Victoria Barton, 25, 125 Pine Knoll Drive Apt. 417, was arrested at her home at 3:10 p.m. for taking a purse and $200 from a woman at gunpoint in the Pemberton Square mall parking lot on July 24, police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Daniel Terrel Kersh, 25, whose last known address is 824 Lawrence Road.
Stewart said Kersh is believed to have been holding the gun during the holdup.
Barton was held on $30,000 bond at Issaquena County jail this morning, pending an initial court hearing, Stewart said.
The VPD is asking that anyone with information on Kersh’s location contact the department at 601-636-2511.
Pattison woman held for bad checks
A Pattison woman was in the Warren County Jail today on charges of writing bad checks.
Helen Hedrick, 48, 6021 Pattison Tillman Road, was being held without bond.
City man jailed for marijuana sale
A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail today for the sale of marijuana, records showed.
Willie Rose, 18, 2234 Grove St., was being held without bond pending an initial court appearance.
Suspect in grease burn due in court today
A Vicksburg man jailed for aggravated assault of a teen and mayhem was scheduled to appear in Vicksburg Municipal Court today, police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.
Fadell Wilson, 46, 201 Springridge Drive, who was arrested Tuesday, was being held on $50,000 bond at the Issaquena County jail pending his appearance.
The victim, 16-year-old Micah Andrews, received second- and third-degree burns in the attack Monday during an argument over a television, police said. Micah was transferred to the Joseph B. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Ga., after initially being taken to River Region Medical Center by his grandmother, with whom Micah and Wilson lived.
A spokesman for the Georgia hospital said this morning that Micah’s condition had improved from serious to fair since Tuesday.
Cigars, cigarettes, chips among missing items
Cigars, cigarettes, a video game and money were among items reported stolen in Vicksburg, police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.
Boxes of cigars and cigarettes, cash, T-shirts and jewelry, with a total value of about $5,600, were reported taken from Food Max grocery store, 2785 N. Washington St., at 6:01 a.m. today.
An Ultimate Alliance Xbox 360 video game valued at $21, $50 and potato chips and snack cakes valued at $5 were reported stolen from a home in the 2700 block of Alcorn Drive at 3:42 p.m. Tuesday.
Bikes, games, ACs missing in county
In Warren County, air-conditioners and bicycles were among items reported stolen, records showed.
A 27-inch RCA TV valued at $300, a 1,500 BTU air-conditioner valued at $400, an air-conditioner valued at $100, 100 DVDs valued at $500 and two Mongoose bicycles valued at $85 each were reported stolen from a home in the 10500 block of U.S 61 South at 7:21 p.m. Tuesday.
Two injured in wreck on Halls, Fisher ferries
Two Vicksburg people were injured in a two-car wreck at Halls Ferry and Fisher Ferry roads at 9:05 a.m. Tuesday.
Tonya White, 40, and Lee Stephens, 36, both of 185 Deer Ridge Road, were treated and released from River Region Medical Center, a hospital spokesman said.
Information on the second vehicle and its occupants was not available.
