Natchez in a bottle

Published 12:00 am Thursday, August 20, 2009

Carl Dunaway of Mammoth Spring, Ark., holds a tiny replica of The Natchez steamboat in a bottle. It took Dunaway two months and three glass bottles to complete the handmade miniature steamboat. “If you make a mistake, it’s history,” he said. “You have to break the bottle and start over.” The bottled Natchez replica is on permanent loan to the Battlefield Museum, 4139 N. Frontage Road. (Katie Carter*The Vicksburg Post)
