Morning truck fire

Vicksburg firefighter Capt. Tal Sheffield extinguishes a fire at Bell’s Towing Services scrap yard on South Frontage Road at about 8:30 this morning. Tow truck driver Percy Hall said the fire started when insulation under the 18-wheeler ignited while being cut into pieces with a cutting torch. The trailer, which had been involved in an accident on Interstate 20 about six months ago, was about to be hauled away for junk, Hall said. (Meredith Spencer*The Vicksburg Post)
