Jessie James McGee died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at Ruleville Nursing & Rehab in Ruleville, Miss. He was 73.

Mr. McGee was retired from the City of Vicksburg. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie J. Sr. and Ruth Ann McGee; and two sisters, Alice Ruth Clark and Lila Mae McGee.

He is survived by a brother, Charles Earl Mayfield of New Orleans; and other relatives, including Willie B. Hill, James Ross and members of the Yates and Hill families.
