John Hardy died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. He was 66.

Mr. Hardy was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Sims; his mother, Alfreda Sims; and a brother, Eugene Sims.

Survivors include his daughter, Roshonda Hardy of Chicago; two brothers, Henry Sims of Chicago and Alfred Sims of Vicksburg; two sisters, Eunice Sims and Patricia Kinnard, both of Vicksburg; grandchildren; other relatives and friends including the Pampley, Powell, Hardy, Vaughn and Jordan families.

Lakeview Memorial Home has charge of arrangements.
