Wreck leaves Port Gibson intersection without signal

A Wednesday night accident has left a major highway intersection without a working traffic signa in Port Gibson.
At about 9 p.m., a reportedly over-height truck passed through the intersection of U.S. 61 and Mississippi 18, striking the signal light and taking it down just north of Port Gibson. MDOT will temporarily convert the busy intersection into a four-way stop while crews work to install a new signal. MDOT hopes to have the new signal up and working within three to four days.
Motorists should be advised that temporary delays could occur in this area due to the accident. The department regrets any inconveniences this situation may cause.
