Donald Keith Stauble

Donald Keith Stauble went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 26, 2009, at the University Medical Center. He was born on April 21, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pa., and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in geology from Temple University, a Master of Science degree in oceanography from Florida State University and a doctorate in environmental science from the University of Virginia.
He was employed at the U.S. Army Waterways Experiment Station’s Coastal Engineering in Vicksburg for 22 years and was a published research scientist with a passion for teaching.
He was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Brass Group and an active member of the Culkin Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his parents, Charles and Kathryn Stauble of Whiting, N.J.; wife, Jane Stauble of Vicksburg; daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Brian Bostak of Pearl; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Amanda Stauble of Vicksburg; and two granddaughters.
A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Vicksburg at 10 a.m. Saturday.
