SYRACUSE, Ind. — Mary H. Sumner died Friday, August 28, 2009, at Goshen General Hospital in Goshen, Indiana. She was 73.

A native of Hammond, Ind., Mrs. Sumner was a licensed teacher and registered nurse, and formerly had lived in Vicksburg and worked at Vicksburg Medical Center before moving to the Dewart Lake area in Indiana in 1993.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Mabel Wright Hahn; and husband, Dr. Roger D. Sumner Sr.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Lott of San Antonio, Texas; and son, Roger Sumner Jr. of Syracuse, Ind.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Owen Family Funeral Home in Syracuse. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Harlan Steffen officiating. Burial will follow at Syracuse Cemetery.
