Mr. Mathes marries Miss Johnson July 18

Ernest Wesley Mathes Jr. and Lauren Denise Johnson were married at 2 p.m. July 18, 2009, at Pine Bluff Baptist Church in Dentville, Miss. Eddie Mayor officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Howard Lamar and Susan Lynn Johnson of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Doris Tart and James Tart of Vicksburg; Raymond Lynn of Longview, Texas; and O.L. Johnson and the late Ruth Johnson of Meridian.
The groom is the son of Ernest Wesley and Karen Bock Mathes of Dentville. He is the grandson of Chloe and Jim Chandler and the late Sidney Mathes, all of Utica; Audrey Hood and the late Dale Hood of Hoodtown; and Wick and Melanie Bock of Terry.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride’s chosen colors were teal and white.
A program of nuptial music was presented by Cathy Hood, organist, and Marshall Hill.
Maid of honor was Emily Mathes of Dentville. Bridesmaids were Taylor James of Madison and Nikki Strong, Jenna Turner and Ana Singletary, all of Crystal Springs.
Rick Smith of Crystal Springs served as best man. Groomsmen were Jonathan Evans and Michael Strong, both of Crystal Springs; Thomas Dale Hood of Hoodtown; and Chris Henderson of Utica.
Ushers were Matt Fitzgugh of Terry and Cody Gaddy of Crystal Springs.
Flower girl was Madison Strong of Crystal Springs. Ring bearer was Brayden Johnson of Meridian.
A reception followed in the fellowship hall of the church.
Hostesses were Robin Davis, Brian and Lynn Bock, Miranda Bock, Cathy Mathes, Audrey Flowers, Cindy Holmes, Angie Wade and Deborah S. Alexander.
The couple will make their home in Dentville. The bride attends Mississippi College, and the groom is employed at Briggs Equipment.
