Two research scientists in the Environmental Laboratory at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center have received accolades from the International Journal of Human and Ecological Risk Assessment for their manuscript.
The paper, Integrating Comparative Risk Assessment with Multi-Criteria Decisions Analysis to Manage Contaminated Sediments: An Example for the New York/New Jersey Harbor, was named the 2008 Paper of the Year. It was written by Todd Bridges and Jongbum Kim.
Bridges has a bachelor’s degree in biology and zoology and a master’s in biology, both from California State University.
He completed a doctorate in 1992, the same year he began working at ERDC as a research biologist, in biological oceanography from North Carolina State University.
Kim, who was born in Daejeon, Korea, has a bachelor’s degree from Yonsei University, a master’s from Carnegie Melton University and a doctorate from Johns Hopkins University. He is an environmental decision analyst contractor for the Environmental Risk Assessment Branch in conjunction with the University of Florida, and he previously served as a postdoctoral researcher with the National Marine Fisheries Service in Santa Cruz, Calif.
