Tommy E. Leoty Sr.

TALLULAH — Tommy E. Leoty Sr. died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at Olive Branch Senior Care Center in Tallulah. He was 85.

Mr. Leoty was born in Oneida, Tenn., and had lived in Tallulah for 75 years. He owned Tommy Leoty’s State Farm Insurance Agency.

He was a golfer, a member of First United Methodist Church and a veteran of the Navy in World War II.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Leoty Lebowitz; and a sister, Helen Leoty Sevier.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Marie Leoty of Tallulah; a son, Tommy E. Leoty Jr. of Tallulah; one sister, Sue Post of Tallulah; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Tallulah with the Revs. John Kavanaugh and Fred Fulton officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be David Cagnolatti, Mac Cagnolatti, Kirk Morley, Buddy Caldwell, Tommy Wixon and Ron Hilderbrand.
