GREENVILLE — Allena Newell, formerly of Blanton, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at her home in Greenville. She was 93.

Ms. Newell is survived by four nieces, Mary Granton Jackson and Ida Ruth Davis, both of Greenville, Betty Wilson of Chicago and Yvette Warren of Cordova, Tenn.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Magnolia M.B. Church in Cary with Pastor Roosevelt Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Cary Community Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Friday at Redmon Funeral Home in Greenville and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
