MAYERSVILLE — Arlys Palmer Grant died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Rolling Fork. She was 76.
Mrs. Grant had lived most of her life in Rolling Fork. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by a husband, Edwin Palmer Sr.; and a grandson, Jason Palmer.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence Grant of Mayersville; two sons, Wayne Palmer and Jeff Palmer, both of Rolling Fork; two daughters, Shelia Prine of Rolling Fork and Sharon Bobo of Shelbyville, Tenn.; four stepdaughters, Mary Lou Pine of Prosser, Wash., Kathy Yelverton of Rolling Fork, Edna Tanous of Nesbit and Sherry Harrison of Memphis; two brothers, Albert Fortenberry of Jackson and Dennis Fortenberry of Vermont; two sisters, Dorothy Purvis of Flora and Mary Patterson of Dallas; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork with the Rev. Donnie Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery in Rolling Fork. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Zach Bobo, Caleb Bobo, Dusty Palmer, Allen Yelverton, Clarence Carter and Wayne Windham.
Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Purvis, Dave Schaefer, Robert Wayne Brown, Curt Harris and Tommy Bowles.
